What is East Ashington Life?

East Ashington LIFE is a partnership of Wansbeck District Council, representatives of East Ashington community and stakeholders, and Cheviot Housing Association.

The initiative aims to ensure that local people have the opportunity to influence the regeneration of the area and direct key investment decisions.

There is no doubt that East Ashington has a great deal going for it, the multi-million pound development Experience Northumberland at Woodhorn Mining Museum and County Archive, the Hirst Park and Hirst Welfare Resource Centre are among but a few.

On the other side of the coin there are problems which need addressing, the physical environment and appearance of the area could be improved, new social housing is required to provide modern, affordable housing for both rent and sale, in addition to providing services which are more tailored to the needs of the Community.

We need your priorities for change; where you would like to see money invested, and what you think is needed to make life better for your community.
